University of Hyderabad

The University of Hyderabad, established by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 39 of 1974) on 2nd October, 1974, is a Central University funded entirely by the University Grants Commission. It is located in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The university operates as a Unitary University and does not have any Study Centres, branches, campuses, or affiliated colleges elsewhere. The primary objectives of the University, as outlined in the Act, are to disseminate and advance knowledge by offering instructional and research facilities in various fields of learning. It also places special emphasis on integrated courses in humanities and science, fostering interdisciplinary studies and research. The University's campus spans approximately 2,000 acres along the old Hyderabad-Bombay road, offering a picturesque and tranquil environment. Over the years, several buildings have been constructed to meet the academic, support, and residential needs of the campus community.
